Appleaires Women’s Chorus

The Wenatchee Valley Appleaires strive to contribute to the Wenatchee Valley and the surrounding area through musical performance and support of the arts. This women's choir traces its roots to a Sweet Adeline group in 1978 and has grown to include more than thirty voices. The Appleaires present an annual concert, often collaborating with other local performers and musicians. This ensemble also sings in the community, appearing in support of arts events and at baseball games to sing the national anthem. Proceeds from the Appleaires' concerts and various donations and sponsorships go to support college scholarships for local students who are continuing their education in music.

Jameson Varpness, conductor of the Wenatchee Valley Appleaires, is a local musician with a background in piano performance, teaching, and music ministry. Varpness is director of music ministries at Grace Lutheran Church in Wenatchee. He is a member of the Wenatchee Valley Symphony Orchestra and has played for various theater productions in the valley. Varpness holds a BA in music from Dickinson State University and an MM in piano pedagogy and performance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
